Why an Online Presence?

We often hear: "We already have a physical shop - why open a website?" Here are the differences between traditional methods and a digital presence:

Physical Shop Only

  • Sales limited to opening hours
  • Reaches local customers only
  • High rent and staff costs
  • Limited display space
  • Customer behaviour cannot be measured
  • Advertising impact is hard to measure
  • Stock information is hidden from customers

Physical + Online (PORTWARE)

  • Sales 24/7
  • Reaches the whole world
  • Low fixed cost
  • An unlimited product catalogue
  • Every click is measurable
  • Campaign ROI can be calculated
  • Real-time stock visibility

  5. Social media: spread the word with share buttons
  6. Live chat: answer questions from curious visitors instantly
  7. Analytics: measure how many sales come from each channel

Frequently Asked Questions

Does e-commerce need separate hosting?
No. PORTWARE runs the website, e-commerce, CRM, inventory and accounting modules all on one server. No separate e-commerce platform is needed.
How much are the payment commissions?
PORTWARE takes no commission. Only the payment provider's commission applies - for İyzico, for example, 2.49% + VAT. That is far lower than marketplaces.
Is there integration with marketplaces (Trendyol, Hepsiburada)?
Yes, API integrations are available. You can manage products in one place and publish them to several channels. Order and stock synchronisation is automatic.
Is there a mobile app?
The PORTWARE website has a responsive design and works perfectly in mobile browsers. With PWA support a shortcut can be added to the home screen. A native mobile app requires custom development.
Is an SSL certificate included?
You can get a free SSL certificate from Let's Encrypt. It is configured automatically when the PORTWARE server is set up. All e-commerce traffic is encrypted over HTTPS.
Is there an extra charge for SEO?
No. The built-in SEO tools (meta tags, sitemap, schema markup, URL management) are completely free. The Google Analytics and Search Console integrations are free too.
How many operators does live chat support?
You can add unlimited operators. Each user licence does affect your cost, though. With a chatbot you can offer support outside working hours and optimise the number of operators.
Do the blog and forum need extra modules?
The blog is part of the Website module. The forum is installed as a separate module but is free. Both are integrated with the karma system.
